In Africa today, a lot of children suffer from issues relating to restricted access to healthcare, education, and many other basic amenities. In response to the profound health challenges facing the African child and, in most cases, their mothers, CSDON emerged with a deep-rooted commitment to creating transformative changes. The inception of our organization was fueled by the recognition of the stark disparities in healthcare access across various communities by her excellence, Mrs. Donald Duke, and other committed visionaries that share in the vision and mission of CSDON.
Child Survival and Development Organization of Nigeria (CSDON) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that serves as a rallying point for promoting the well-being of Nigerian and African mothers and children by supporting maternal and child healthcare initiatives in the country and Africa at large. It was founded in 2002 and has been engaging in a lot of phenomenal work since then.
Motivated by the belief that every life is valuable and that accessibility to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, our founders envisioned an organization that could transcend geographical boundaries and socio-economic constraints. Driven by a profound sense of responsibility and guided by the principle that positive change is achievable through strategic interventions, CSDON aspires to be a catalyst for sustainable healthcare improvements. We stand committed to advocating for policy reforms, fostering partnerships, and implementing a variety of initiatives that empower communities, ultimately paving the way for a healthier and more resilient continent.
